He underscored the ongoing infrastructure development initiatives being implemented by the Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) at the GSFPC. Furthermore, he articulated the government's strategic vision for the modernization of fish ports to align with international standards. This interaction also facilitated a crucial dialogue, enabling stakeholders to convey concerns and offer insights pertinent to future policy formulations.

The GSFPC, under the management of the PFDA, functions as a vital economic contributor, serving over 20,000 clients and providing employment for approximately 12,000 to 13,000 individuals. It holds distinction as the Philippines' preeminent facility for tuna unloading, accommodating both domestic and international fishing vessels. Recent strategic enhancements, specifically the Expansion and Improvement of GSFPC Package II and the establishment of a new Cold Storage facility, are designed to augment the port's operational efficiency and solidify its pivotal role as a national fisheries logistics hub.
